Gala Dinner 2011 "Evening of the Stars"

Wayne Rostad and Rodd Hotels and Resorts made our 2011 "Evening of the Stars" dinner and auction a huge success for 2011, raising a record $64,000

Wayne is one of the most recognized voices and faces on the Canadian landscape and is an Order of Canada recipient. Wayne is an amazing entertainer; he hosted the event, provided crowd clapping toe tapping musical entertainment and is a terrific auctioneer. Wayne is the "Whole Package". The evening would not have been the success that it was without his charm, whit and musical talent. A huge thank you to our friend Wayne!!!

We also enjoyed musical entertainment from two young men, Jack & Mason MacKenzie, both are on the autism spectrum. They provided us with 2 musical performances and received a standing ovation.

Our meal was fabulous! Our chef at the Rodd Royalty Inn prepared for our 250 guest a wild mushroom tart, herbed cream cheese stuffed beef tenderloin with risotto, spring asparagus and parmesan grilled tomatoes. This was topped off with a mocha tort from the Culinary Institute and wines from Treasury Wine Estates.

Our welcome cocktail reception included fabulous Malpeque oysters provided by John Bil "Oyster Shucker Champion" and owner of the Ship to Shore Restaurant on PEI. John continued to provide oysters to our guests throughout the evening.

Our beautiful decorations were provided by Linda Larter of Silhouette Bridal Centre, Winsloe, PEI and flower design by Alan Preston "Hearts & Flowers".

The evening garnered rave reviews from all who attended!
